Texture is essential to this collection. A marble clay base is used on either panel or canvas to build up the surface. Then other elements such as paint, gold leaf, glass beads and ceramic clay are added to lend a heightened sense of depth. This depth gives the paintings an energy that changes depending on the surrounding light.
