Looking for a little holiday cheer to brighten up your tree?

Beginning on Thursday, December 5th, Winter Harbor is holding their annual Holiday Shop Local Night, starting with the lighting of the tree.  After that, head over to Schoodic Arts for All’s Schoolhouse location from 3pm -8pm for an Fine Art Market with local artists.  We’ll have a amazing art and crafts, a band and refreshments for a little yule tidings.

And then on Saturday, December 6th from 10am-4pm you can find me at the Bay School in Blue Hill for their annual Winter Faire.  Always a ton of fun with music, food, a farmers market, and fine art.

Hope to see you there!

Look who showed up at the Bar Harbor Show…

On Sunday, I was pleasantly surprised with a visit from Alan deCheubell, my inspiration for the newest edition to the Maine Men Series,  “Rowing Old Tyler”.  After having read his story in the MDIslander last winter, I knew he would make a great edition to the series.  Alan is a very skilled woodworker and craftsman living in Bar Harbor, known for his beautiful cabinets and furniture.  Sadly, as he has gotten older his eye sight has started to fail.  So to make the best of it, he decided to move away from the detail work and focus on a larger project, building a boat.  His chose a Rangeley design that can either be sailed, rowed, or powered by motor.  At the first launch, Alan christened it Old Tyler with a bottle of Moxie and set her out for a spin on Echo Lake.  It is a beautiful boat and an even more wonderful story of perseverance and a passionate dedication.  Plus, I love that he used Moxie instead of Champagne….very Maine.  So needles to say, it was a pleasure meeting the man who helped make my painting come alive.  Thank you, Alan.

Showin’ On the Green

Thank you to everyone who visited me out on the green in Bar Harbor this past weekend!  I saw a lot of new faces as well as many of my past clients.  It was such a pleasure speaking with everyone about the new work.  There were a bunch of new pieces that I revealed for the first time at the show and many of them are already gone!  I was so excited that I called Ryan, my fiance, and he joked that he’d refill my paint water cup so I’d be ready to roll in the studio when I got home.  Ironically, that’s exactly what I did!  Usually I relax after show days.  They can really take a lot out of ya.  But not this past one!  I was all charged up when I got back.  There’s a sayin’ down south, “when the summertime’s here, ain’t no time for honky tonkin’, Cher!”  Got to get down to business.

Soon I will be posting a glimpse of some of the new works.  I will label the sold ones as well as the available ones.  Hope you like what you see!

Getting ready for the first show

I’ve been crazy busy this past week preparing for the first show of the summer!  Paintings are getting their final coats of varnish, my business cards have been ordered, flyers are being printed out and the portfolio is updated.  I am excited to be show casing some of my new work that I will be showing for the first time.  If you’re in the Bar Harbor area on June 22nd and 23rd, please stop by the Village Green.  I’ll be happy to see ya!
