Commissions something special in mind

From start to finish, my goal is to make your vision come alive.

Here’s how to become part of the Starboard Series :

Are you having the work commissioned for a special occasion?  Be sure to let me know when you will need the painting and I will do my best to deliver for that date.  However, I tend to book up quick, especially for the holidays and at the height of summer, so the sooner you know when you’ll need the painting, the better.  Generally it can take up to a month or two from start to finish, longer if I have a few other commissions on the docket.

If you have your chart number in mind, that would be quite helpful to know.  If you’re not sure, then I can help you find the perfect one.  I order all my charts from NOAA, so you don’t have to worry about providing one.  Once we decide on the number I will do the ordering.

Consider what size you’d like the chart, and keep in mind that I use original NOAA charts and only modify through cropping.  I can go as small as a 6″ x 8″, as large as the full chart, or anything in between.

Would you like the work to be framed or mounted on one of my Ampersand panels, fully stained and ready to hang.  For an image of the panels and stain.  If you choose to frame your piece, the final painting will come to you dry mounted on framers mount ready for you to bring to the framer and discuss you options.  Since frames come in so many different styles, I leave that up to you to decide what would look best in your home.  If you decide on the panel, the piece will come to you ready to hang.  I will post an image of what the panels look like so that you can get an idea.

If you have a specific boat if scene you’d like, please send quality images via email.  Please keep in mind that the higher quality the image, the more detail can be integrated into the painting.

Call or email with your idea!  Once we have discussed all the particulars, I will send you a price estimate so you have an idea about how much it is going to cost.  I always do my best to give an accurate range, but with any estimate it could cost a bit more or a bit less.

With the estimate, you will also receive the amount of your deposit.  Deposit rates vary depending on the final price and basically act as a placeholder for the painting and is applied to your final balance.

After having received the deposit, I will create a sketch layout for you to review and approve.  This way, you will have a good idea of how the painting will look in the end.

Once the sketch is approved I can get to painting!!  That’s the fun part

Prefer something a little different?  I’d love to hear all about it.
