Kaitlyn Metcalf was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was raised on crawfish, po-boys, Bloody Mary’s, Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras. Kaitlyn was fortunate enough to be able to simultaneously attend Mount Carmel Academy and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, two of the best secondary schools in the city. After high school, this Southern Belle ventured north to further her art education, where she attended Maine College of Art in Portland. Kaitlyn graduated with Honors in May of 2007 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Painting and a minor in Art History.
Kaitlyn’s current body of work, The Starboard Series, makes visible the romance between man and ocean through the extension of the watercraft. The paintings are the accounts of bold men and women who were successfully courted and seduced by the sea.
Please feel free to contact Kaitlyn with any questions. Commission Work is Warmly Welcomed.
Lily is a bright white Jack Russell. Born and raised on the Cape, she is accustom to long summer days and catching sun beams whenever possible. Her youth was spent aboard an ice cream truck in hopes young children would give her a lick of their tasty popsicles. After retiring to Maine from the ice cream business, she now oversees the Studio activities. She finds herself enjoying frisbee on the beach, hikes in Acadia, growing and eating carrots, learning to sing and always one ear open for the ice cream bowl.
Lily is constantly working toward maintaining order in the Studio. She does her best to restore balance and bring a zen quality into the chaos of creativity.
